Punjab Police and BSF recovered arms and drugs in Tarn Taran. In a joint operation in Tarn Taran, the police and BSF busted a racket of narcotics and illegal weapons. In the operation, a person was arrested who was carrying 3.124 kg of heroin. The person also carried 1 pisot, 5 magazines, 111 rounds, 2 weighing scales, and 3 lakh rupees.

Talking on X (previously known as twitter), DGP Punjab Police said “Big Blow to Trans Border narcotic network: Tarn Taran Police in a joint operation with BSF busts a cross-border illegal weapons and drugs smuggling racket with arrest of 1 person and seizure of 3.124 Kg Heroin, 1 pistol, 5 magazines, 111 rounds, ⁠2 Weighing scale & â‚č3 Lakh drug money.
Drones were used to transport drugs from #Pakistan across the border in Tarn Taran area.
Investigations on-going to establish backward & forward linkages for more recoveries and arrests.

According to the DGP of Punjab Police, the smugglers were using drones to transport drugs across the borders of India and Pakistan. Since the Punjab Police and BSF recovered arms and drugs, the Punjab DGP said that he would investigate for more recoveries.

Before this, the Punjab Police recovered suspected heroin, one copper wire loop and four illuminating strips attached to the packets from Dhanoe Kalan village during the night hours of Sunday.

In the press conference regarding the Punjab Police and BSF recovery of Arms and Drugs, the officials said, “The dropping zone was blocked, and a thorough search was carried out. At 11:53, they found one packet (weighing 575 grams) of suspected heroin was found in the village of Dhanoe Kalan, located in the district of Amritsar. The drug was tapped in adhesive, and four lighting strips and one copper wire loop were also found to be connected to the packet.
